Yvette E Wilson

Yvette E. Wilson, age 95, of Findlay, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her home. Yvette was born on October 15, 1927 in Jumet, Belgium. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gaston and Denise (Stickel) Dufour, her sister, Renee Tille, and her niece, Christine Tille of Belgium.

 On March 30, 1948, Yvette married Robert J. Wilson, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1992.  She is survived by son David (Debi) Wilson of Plymouth, MA; granddaughter Kelly (Jay) Fleming of Hingham, MA; great-granddaughter Kate Fleming and nephew Christian Tille of Belgium.

 Yvette was a woman of conviction. Coming to the United States as a young woman and a new mother, Yvette had the tenacity to build a life for herself with her husband and son in Findlay.  No doubt Yvette was strong-willed and lived her life on her own terms.  At almost 96 years young, her active lifestyle, strong work ethic and positive attitude helped her navigate life and live to the fullest. Yvette will remain an inspiration to her family because of these traits, especially to her great-granddaughter, Kate, who will always remember her “GiGi”.

 While Yvette held various jobs throughout her life, her longest tenure was with the Findlay Public School System at both Donnell Junior High and Findlay High Schools to which she retired from with fond memories.  One of Yvette’s most favorite pastimes was traveling. She loved traveling to Europe, whether to explore different countries or to visit with family.  Yvette would be the first person to tell you that she was always on the go!  The love of travel continues in the generations that she leaves behind – a gift of adventure in life’s big and little moments.     

 Yvette continued to remain active until the end of her life, regularly attending the College First Church of God, participating at 50 North, routinely visiting the YMCA, and enjoying time with friends and family.   

 Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the funeral home officiated by Jim Woodward.  Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens.
