Thomas A. Scherger

Thomas A. Scherger, age 78 of Findlay, passed away at 4:13 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Thomas was born on September 10, 1942 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Robert and Anna Rose "Betty" (Arnold) Scherger. On September 18, 1965 he was married to Mary Jane Hammer. She survives, along with a daughter Roxanne (John) Krauth of Avon, Ohio, and their children Sydney and Julia; a son, Ron (Kristin Pollock) Scherger and their children Ethan, Hope, and Adam of Austin, TX; a son, Tom (Sheree) Scherger of Findlay, Ohio; and siblings Robert Scherger of Tiffin, OH, Roger (Ruth) Scherger of Bakersfield, CA, Jean Thompson of Tiffin, OH, and Janet (Ken) Arnold of Tiffin, OH. Tom was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay, where he served as an usher for the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. He retired from Marathon Oil Company in Findlay after working 35 years in the IT department. His hobbies included bowling, playing golf, and playing euchre at 50 North. Tom was a very avid sports fan, especially of Notre Dame and the Detroit Tigers. A private family visitation will be held Sunday at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Michael Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio. The service will be live streamed through St. Michael's Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
