Sylvia M. (Gutierrez) Maldonado

Sylvia M. Maldonado, 67, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born in Findlay, on February 3, 1958, to the late Reyes and Lydia (Benavides) Gutierrez. Sylvia married Jose R. Maldonado on May 6, 1978, and he preceded her in death, December 7, 1987.

Surviving Sylvia are two sons, Jesse (Erin) Maldonado of Dublin, Ohio, and Jose (Whitney) Maldonado of San Antonio, Texas, and one grandchild, Lily Maldonado. Also surviving are six siblings; Rick (Barb) Gutierrez, Ray Gutierrez, Ronnie Gutierrez, Mary (Bob) Coldwell, Eva Neville, Irma (Manuel) Lopez, all of Findlay, Ohio.

She was a graduate of Findlay High School. She was formerly employed for 16 years at Goodwill Industries.

Sylvia was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family and watching the Game Show Network.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the St. Michael Chapel Downtown, 617 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, Ohio. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered, in Sylvia’s name to Cancer Patient Services, 1800 North Blanchard Street, Suite 120, Findlay, Ohio, 45840.
