Steven Knox Obituary

Steven Lloyd Knox passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving this world the same way he lived in it - his way. Born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and moving to Ohio, he grew into a man of strong convictions, never afraid to speak his mind or stand firmly in his beliefs. A true free bird, he valued independence and lived life on his own terms. He remained faithful to who he was, facing life directly with courage and resolve, never compromising the values that mattered most to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marji (Waaland) Knox, who shared his journey and stood beside him through life’s seasons, his mother, Cecilia Kirkpatrick, stepmother, Ruth Raudabaugh, as well as his siblings, Georgia (Jim) Badertscher), Dana (Jim) Helfrich, Alison (David) Heitmeyer, Lynnette (Keith) Coppler, brothers-in-law, Eliot (Jean) Waaland, Dwight (Lisa) Waaland, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephew, who will remember him for his strength, spirit, and unmistakable presence.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Lee Knox, stepfather, Carl (Joe) Raudabaugh, in-laws, Don and Bonnie Waaland, and brother-in-law Donnie Waaland.

Throughout his life, Steve formed lifelong friendships built on loyalty, trust, and shared experiences. These bonds meant a great deal to him, and he held his friends close, often considering them family. Those friendships stood as a testament to the kind of man he was—steadfast, genuine, and deeply loyal.

Steve will be remembered as someone who lived freely, valued lasting connections, and remained true to himself until the very end. His legacy lives on through the love of his family, the loyalty of his friends, and the many lives he touched along the way.

A celebration of life will be held at the Ralph D. Cole American Legion Post #3, 120 W. Front St., on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Cancer Patients Service, or to the family to offset expenses and support Marji in her own treatment.
