Sonja S (Oman) Hendricks

Sonja S. Hendricks, 61, of Findlay, passed away at 11:06 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Sonja was born on January 10, 1962 in Findlay, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents George W. Oman Jr. and Wanda J. Naranjo.

She married James F. Hendricks on June 13, 1980 and he survives. Additionally, Sonja is survived by a son, James W. Hendricks, and a grandson, Nathan Hendricks, a brother John (Deb) Oman, and three sisters, Shirley (Victor) Gonzalez, Sandy Crawford and Sharon Elliott, her nieces; Missy Gonzalez and Mindy Gonzalez, her nephews; Daniel (Michelle) Oman and Joey Lee.

Besides her parents, Sonja was also preceded in death by a brother, George Oman and sister-in-law Michelle Oman, her step-mother Lucille Oman and brother-in-law John Crawford.

Sonja attended Findlay High School and was a homemaker.

Sonja always enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, taking her dog “Cammie” for walks, cooking, housework, and spending time with her husband, family and friends. She was an amazing person, thoughtful, caring, brave, courageous, fun-loving and the most unselfish person you could ever meet. She will be greatly missed by her husband, son, family and friends. Sonja was a bright light that burned out too soon.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. A funeral service will follow immediately, beginning at 1:30pm, remaining at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bill Cook. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, 1120 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, Ohio.

Memorials may be sent to Cancer Patient Services, 1800 North Blanchard Street, Suite 120, Findlay, Ohio and in lieu of flowers, the family would welcome cards of encouragement.
