Shirley J. Nulton fell asleep in death on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born April 29, 1935, in Findlay, Ohio to the late Welton “Bud” Frantz and Margaret “Nita” (Miller) Frantz. She had 2 siblings, Bill Frantz and Carol (Steve) Benroth of Paulding, Ohio, both deceased. Shirley married Weldon O. Nulton on March 19, 1955, in Findlay and he preceded her in death. They had 2 children, James O. Nulton (Valerie) of Pleasanton, Texas and Findlay, and Julia M. Nulton of Findlay, Ohio.
Shirley also had 4 grandsons, Joshua Nulton of Pleasanton, Texas, Nehemiah Nulton (Jasmin) of Findlay, Ohio, Brandon Nulton (Brigitte) of Lima, Ohio and Matthew Nulton (Ellie) of St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as 12 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley dedicated her life to Jehovah (God’s personal name) by being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 18, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio. She served Jehovah faithfully with the Findlay Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 74 years until her death. She loved nature, watching birds, gardening, music, baseball, and was an avid reader.
One anchor of her faith is stated at Revelation 21: 3, 4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Shirley lived her life in sincere anticipation of the fulfillment of this precious promise of her God, Jehovah.
A Memorial will be held at a later date. Donations are welcome in Shirley’s name to Jehovah’s Witnesses at donate.jw.org.
