Rita S. Jones

Rita S. Jones, age 83 of Findlay, passed away at 3:22 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Rita was born on June 13, 1939 in Lima, Ohio to the late Clarence and Mary (Green) Bowers.

Rita married Paul W. “Digger” Jones on February 13, 1982 and Paul passed away in 2019.  Rita is survived by her children, Tonia (Shawn) Meenihan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Scott (Sharon) Elliott of Arlington, Ohio; Martin (Suzanne) Elliott of Richmond, Virginia; Bianca (Kevin) Birchfield of Arlington, Ohio and Jason Marshall of Findlay, Ohio; five grandchildren, Collin (Jessica) Meenihan, Devin Meenihan, Taylor Elliott, Hailey (Tra) Callahan and Karlee Birchfield; three step-grandsons, Nathan Kuenzli of Montana, Cody Clifford of Findlay, Ohio and Trevor Clifford of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Rita was preceded in death by a son, Keith Elliott, and two step-daughters, April Jones and Tammy Clifford,  former husband, Dale Elliott, former husband Larry “Spike” Marshall, and five siblings.

Rita was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association (GWRA), Precious Moments Club, and an active member at 50 North. Prior to retiring, she was employed at Kohl’s Distribution Center in Findlay. She was formerly employed at National Lime & Stone, Piece Goods Shop, Fort Findlay Motor Inn, and several area businesses.  She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, sewing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840 on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ruth Whitaker officiating.
