Richard "Dick" Herbert Wilhelm age 88, of Findlay, formerly of Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. His wife, Jinny, passed away in 2020 and welcomed him into Heaven. They were married for over 50 years. He is survived by his three children, Eric Jon Wilhelm (Robyn), Ryan Wilhelm (Carlota) and Gina Grewal, and seven grandchildren: Ian Wilhelm, Ivy Wilhelm, Rand Wilhelm, Fidelia Wilhelm, Maxwell Grewal, Ruby Grewal and Ashton Grewal.
Dick was born in Toledo, Ohio, on June 9, 1937, and was one of 5 children. He is survived by his sisters Ann and Marie, as well as his brothers Leo and Jim. He married Jinny in 1966 after they met at a ski resort she was working at in California. They later moved back to Ohio, then to Texas, California, New Jersey, New Mexico and Arizona, where he and Jinny settled down and raised their family for over 30 years.
Dick was briefly in the Army. He started his career as a draftsman and worked as a construction supervisor for more than 30 years. He began his career working on oil refineries and finished his career building schools.
He will be fondly remembered for his big smile and joking sense of humor. Dick always insisted on fixing things around the house. He and Jinny traveled a lot together after the kids moved out, always taking road trips. Though their most memorable trip was a cruise to Alaska. Dick maintained a small group of friends from kindergarten throughout his life. They enjoyed getting together every few years and remain friends to this day.
Visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 2:00pm and remaining at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Mike Maskell. Burial service will take place in Arizona at a later date.
