Richard D. Teeple, 78, of Findlay passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on October 31, 1942 to the late Joseph and Sylvia Teeple and they preceded him in death along with a sister, Gloria Heller. He married Julie Favorite on June 5, 1965 and she died on January 6,2022. Also surviving are a daughter Laura (Jeff) Boll and a son Darin (Kerry) Teeple. Richard is also survived by three grandchildren Maclain and Tatum Teeple and Ally Boll, whom he loved dearly.Richard worked at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company and retired in 2002 after 25 years, serving as General Counsel and Vice President. Richard was known to many who worked at Cooper for his extraordinary work ethic; he sought to make Cooper Tire a better place for all employees. Before joining Cooper, he was an attorney with the Frigidaire division of General Motors Corp. and an attorney in private practice.He was a graduate of Purdue University and received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati. He was a member of the American Bar Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association, where he served on the Board of Governors and recently celebrated 50 years of membership. Also, he was a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association and the Findlay-Hancock County Bar Association where he served as president in 1988 and remained active in retirement.Richard was an avid collector and enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets over the years. He always said he was looking for "junk." He had specific interest in Abraham Lincoln and Civil War collectibles and had an extensive collection and felt blessed to be able to donate some of his treasures to the Hancock Historical Museum.He was very active in the community and a generous contributor to many organizations. He was also a previous member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and had a great love for the community and all the people he developed relationships with. After retirement, Dick cared for his parents before their deaths, and, more recently, he devoted his life to caring for his beloved wife, Julie. He cherished time with his children and grandchildren, especially at Christmastime. Above all, his steadfast love and dedication to his family was his greatest accomplishment.Visitation will be held June 18, 2022 from 3-4pm for both Richard and Julie at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow.Memorials contributions may be made to the Hancock Historical Museum, Bridge Home Health and Hospice and College First Church of God.Arrangements have been entrusted to Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay and online condolences can be shared by visiting kirkpatrickbehnke.com.
