Patricia Audrey Strigle (McDermott), a lifelong resident of Akron, started school at St. Sebastian's Elementary and graduated from St. Vincent High School before attending Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois and graduating from Ursuline University in Pepper Pike, Ohio. She was a 45-year member of the St. Thomas Women's Board (chairing several key committees) and a 50-year member (and past President) of the Akron College Club as well as being an active member of the Christ Child Society, Fairlawn Country Club, Women's City Club and St. Hilary's Catholic Church. Pat was a strong, independent woman who was blessed with a keen intellect and valued education. She was an expert bridge player who relished nothing more than playing as often as possible-and did so many afternoons. She was also an avid reader, enthusiastic global traveler and passionate Notre Dame football fan.She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ralph Frederick Strigle, Jr.; her parents, Florence and Patrick McDermott; and her brother, William McDermott.She is survived by her sons, Jerome (Monica) Strigle of Cumming, GA, and Dr. Thomas (Cynthia) Strigle of Findlay, OH; and daughter, Dr. Florence Anne (Dr. Dixon) McLeod of Bald Head Island, NC. Pat had nine grandchildren, Andrew (Jennifer) Strigle, Kelly (Dr. Ryan) Fisher, Colleen (Michael) Sebra, Christopher (Catherine) Strigle, Brian (Stephanie) Huard, Stephen (Chantee) Strigle, Elizabeth (Zachariah) Coleman, Kathleen Strigle and Kimberly (Adam Schroeder) Strigle. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Hamilton McLeod, Devin (Bailey) McLeod and Katie (Connor) Miller. Finally, Pat had ten great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.There will be no visitation hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio, with the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 East Waterloo Road, Akron, OH 44319.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of the Elms Sisters' Retirement Fund, the St. Hilary's Foundation or a charity close to your heart
