Patricia Jane Schmidt

Patricia Jane Schmidt, 88, of Pandora, Ohio passed away at 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Hilty Home. She was born September 2, 1933 in Kalida, Ohio to the late C. Lester and Ruby (Steele) Joseph. She married Don H. Schmidt and on March 5, 2021 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary; and he survives. Pat and Don spent many years in Bluffton, then moved to Pandora to be closer to grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Tom Schmidt of Bluffton, Jane (Tom) McCullough of Pandora, Ohio, Mike Schmidt of Findlay, Ohio, Judy (Gary) Miller of Pandora, Ohio, Jodi (Steve) Wilson of Delaware, Ohio; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Grandma Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Schmidt, a daughter-in-law Cindy (Mike) Schmidt and siblings, Charles Joseph, Joel Joseph, Nancy Watts and Sandra Joseph.Patricia was a homemaker as well as working in Bluffton at various places, starting at Montgomery's Newsstand for 35 cents an hour and including Milliger's Pharmacy, Citizen's National Bank, Uhlman's and Family Dollar. She was known as "Grandma Pat" to numerous neighbors and beloved friends. Her greatest joys were playing on the floor with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, all of whom she truly adored.Visitation will be held in Bluffton, Ohio at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29th from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
