Mary Agnes Kondik, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully from her earthly life at the age of 85 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at her cherished home in Findlay, Ohio, following a sudden illness.
Born July 8, 1939, in Henry County, Ohio, Mary was the youngest of seven children of Harry Clifton and Agnes L. (Miller) Rudolph. She graduated from McClure High School in 1957.
On October 26, 1957, she married Richard N. Kondik, who survives her. Together, they shared more than six decades of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Mary is also survived by her two children Linda (Ricky) Miller, of McComb, Ohio and Steven (Shannon) Kondik, of Jonesborough, Tennessee.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Sarah (Morgan) Simmons, David (Amber) Felgar, Matthew (Sara) Kondik, Amanda (Jacob) Leffler, Heather (Kurt) Geiger, and Jonathan (Rachel) Potter.
Her legacy lives on through her thirteen great-grandchildren: Ryleigh, Kamryn, Braelynn, Macon, Kheivan, Jordyn, Jeremiiah, Lawson, Mason, Tyler, Robert, Abbie, and Eliza who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings: Robert, Shirley, Richard, Beverly, Audrey, and John. We take comfort in the thought of a joyful family reunion in Heaven.
Mary dedicated her life to nurturing those she loved. She created a warm, welcoming home and supported her husband’s private music studio, serving as his ever-reliable “secretary.” She found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always leading with kindness, strength, and grace. Her love for family was matched only by her deep and abiding faith.
A lifelong lover of books, Mary enjoyed frequent trips to the public library—often in the company of her grandchildren, to whom she passed along her love of reading. She ended her days with her Bible, drawing strength and peace from its pages.
Mary’s faith, love, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Findlay, Ohio. A private burial will take place at a later date.
