Marilyn Ruth (Paul) Daniels McElroy

Marilyn Ruth Daniels-McElroy, 94 of Findlay, died at 6:53am on Monday, March 6, 2023 in her home. Marilyn was born on April 7, 1928 in Opage County, Oklahoma to the late Marion Alfred and Mary Bernice (Garrett) Paul. Her parents were divorced and preceded her in death, along with her two brothers, Robert S. Paul and Maurice A. Paul.

She married Jack G. Daniels, Sr. during World War II while he served in the Navy; and they had four children, Jack Daniels, Jr. (Sue Hathaway), both deceased; Leonard William Daniels, deceased, and Shari Lynn Daniels of Fort Wayne, Indiana, deceased; Mary Arlita (Dan, deceased) Plouffe of Findlay. Other survivors include four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Marilyn’s family, friends and church were the greatest joy and importance to her.

After the death of her husband, Jack Daniels, Sr. on March 21, 1976, she attended school in Columbus, Ohio to become a licensed massage therapist, one of the first in Findlay, a profession she enjoyed for many years.

Marilyn’s mother married Roy Edmister. He was a widow and had two sons, John Allen Edmister and Eldon Edmister, now both deceased. They then had three children of their own, Inez Nelson, Earl Edmister and Ray Edmister, also all deceased.

On December 16, 1995, Marilyn married Earl “Mac” McElroy and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2001. Earl’s first wife Florence (deceased 1990) and he were parents of four children; and they also added happiness to Marilyn’s life.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, and 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840. A funeral service for Marilyn will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, with Bishop Stapley officiating from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.
