Margarito M. Gonzales

Margarito Gonzales, 66, of Findlay, passed away Thursday July 27, 2023. He was born to the late Modesto and Francisca (Herrera) Gonzales on June 10, 1957 in Findlay, Ohio. He married Rebecca Garza, and they later divorced.   Margarito is survived by two sons; Margarito (Christina) Gonzales Jr. of Key West, Florida and Marcelo Gonzales of Findlay; a brother; Amador Gonzales, sister; Martina (Jim) Barrett, both of Findlay, grandson; Josiah Gonzales of Key West, Florida, companion; Tracy Matthews, friend; Lane “Casper” Below, and Tootsie, their dog.

Besides his parents, Margarito was preceded in death by two brothers; Faustino and Marcelo Gonzales, and sister; Josephine Chavez.

Margarito was a 1976 graduate of Arcadia High School.  After graduation, he began work as a laborer doing road construction. He was a member of the Labor Union, and worked for Lake Erie Construction.  Margarito was a member of St Michael’s the Archangel Parish.

He always enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, fishing, hunting, camping, and cooking out.  Anything that allowed him to spend time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held for family and friends 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home 500 Lima Ave, Findlay, Ohio, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00pm. We will celebrate a Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Michael’s the Archangel Parish, Downtown 617 West Main Cross, Findlay, Ohio 45840, officiated by Father Melwyn Menezes. Burial will follow at a later date.
