Margaret "Peg" Malloy Obituary

Margaret (Peg) Malloy, 89, of Findlay, passed away at 6:03 pm Monday, February 12, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital of Findlay, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 16, 1934, in Findlay, to the late Earl and Agnes (Vermillion) Haley.

On May 1, 1954 she married William “Bill” R. Malloy, and he survives.  Also surviving are children, Michael (Gail) Malloy of Findlay, Cynthia (Ray) Ford of Findlay, and Melissa (David) LaRocco of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Tyler (Danielle Ries and daughter Mariah) Ford, Haley Ford, Xavier and Arabella Ramirez. She leaves behind a sister-in-law Margaret Waxler, a brother-in-law James Lavrich, cousins, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends to cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Helen Marie Haley.

Peg graduated from Findlay High School in 1954. She worked as an executive secretary for the Glessner Company, worked for Findlay City Schools, and retired as the Executive Director of Grand Court Assisted Living in Findlay.  She and her husband were also the former owners and operators of Malloy’s Restaurant and Catering Service in Findlay.

Peg was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Leo Councilettes, and the Blanchard Valley Auxiliary volunteering with Twigs.  While raising a family she was a member of the Child Conservation League, Den Mother for The Boy Scouts, Leader for Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls.  She volunteered for many activities her children participated in, stressing education and prayer as an important focus to enriching their lives. Peg loved supporting her children and grandchildren as an audience member or as a fan in the stands or through various fundraisers, and was an inspiration to them as she installed family values, traditions, and beliefs. Family was so important to her that she continued to host family gatherings for birthdays, holidays, and whatever reason she could find to bring the family together even including hosting Christmas 2023 weeks before her death.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 -5:00 pm on Sunday February 18, 2024, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay with Father Melwyn Menezes as celebrant.  There will also be an additional visitation one hour prior to the Mass beginning at 1:00 pm, Monday.  Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 for family and friends at 2:00 pm at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
