Margaret A. (Daly) Gregory

Margaret “Maggie” A. Gregory, 91, of Findlay, Ohio, formerly of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Birchaven Village.

Born November 25, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Albert and Mary C. (Dillon) Daly, Maggie was the youngest of three children, with sister Marie and brother John rounding out the family. Maggie was a proud graduate (class of 1952) of St. Casimir Academy in Chicago.

On August 24, 1957, Maggie married Thomas Gregory at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Chicago. They were married over 60 years at the time of Tom’s passing in 2018. Tom and Maggie began their married life in Hartford, Connecticut and then Fraser, Michigan, before bringing their family to Sylvania, Ohio, in 1971. Maggie enjoyed many years as a volunteer at the Board of Elections, Lourdes College Auxiliary and Flower Hospital-ProMedica. In her free time, she was a ferocious reader and was a member of Highland Meadows where she enjoyed golfing with Tom.

She is survived by her son Chris (Carol) Gregory of Findlay; daughters, Gina (Dusty) Shaffer of Avon Lake, Ohio and Anita Gregory of Cranberry Township, Pa..; grandchildren, John (Gretchen) Gregory, Ellen (Patrick) Clunk, Mitchell (Danielle) Shaffer, Scott (Katie) Shaffer and Craig (Melissa) Shaffer. Maggie is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Maggie was preceded in death by sister, Marie; brother, John; and grandson, Tim Gregory.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00am to 11:00am, Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Michael Downtown Chapel at 617 W. Main Cross St, Findlay, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11:00am with celebrant Father Adam Hertzfeld.   

Private burial will follow at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Birchaven Village and Bridge Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
