Larry Eugene Kitchen

Larry Eugene Kitchen 81, of Findlay, died at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Findlay Bridge Hospice Care Center. Larry was born on October 26, 1939 in McComb, Ohio to the late Everett L. and Dorothy (Hiestand) Kitchen. Larry was a 1957 graduate of Cory Rawson High School and served in the United States Navy. He married Nancy Foltz on December 17, 1961 and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bruce (Kris) Kitchen of LaSalle, Michigan and Michael (Maxine) Kitchen of the United Kingdom; a sister, Judith Ervin of Findlay, six grandchildren, Jordon (Gayle) Kitchen, Justine (John) Langton, Bethan Kitchen, Tegan Kitchen, Caitlan Kitchen, Ethan Kitchen; five great grandchildren, Jolene, Josie and Jocelyn Langton and Everett and McKenna Kitchen.Larry was formerly employed at Dow Chemical Co. and retired from Marathon Oil Company in 1994. He was a 50 year member of the Ralph D. Cole Post # 3 American Legion, where he served as Past Commander, was on the Executive Board, was Adjutant, and was awarded the 2007 Veteran of the Year. He was also one of the original members who organized the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Larry was also a lifetime member of the Amvets and the DAV.Larry was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending winters in Bradenton, Florida.Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 in the Chapel at Knollcrest Gardens, East of Findlay with Marianne Higley officiating. The Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct Military Rites.
