Kenneth William Otte

Kenneth William Otte, 95, of Findlay, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Primrose Retirement Community.  Kenneth was born July 17, 1928 in Ridgeville Township, Henry County, Ohio to the late Paul William and Martha D. (Wesche) Otte.  He married Kathryn "Katy" Ann Sanford on May 26, 1956 in Defiance, Ohio.  She preceded him in death on May 25, 2019.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Susan Rufty (David) of Columbus, Ohio; a son, David Otte, of Findlay; a sister, Margaret Thieroff; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Otte and his sister, Helen Roedel.

Kenneth was a 1946 graduate of Ridgeville Local Schools.  He attended International Business College and served in the U.S. Army from December 1950 to December 1952.  He worked for Marathon Oil Company for 28 years, from 1958 to 1986.

Kenneth was a member of First Lutheran Church in Findlay.  He served as financial secretary for 30 years and held various other positions of service in the church.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, March 4, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at First Lutheran Church, 109 East Lincoln Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840, at 11:00am, with Rev. Tucker O’Leary officiating.  There will be visitation at the church an hour prior to the service.   Burial will follow, with military honors by The Defiance V.F.W. Post 3360, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenneth's name are suggested to First Lutheran Church or Bridge Hospice.
