Kathleen M. “Kathy” Karcher, 92 of Findlay, passed away at 5:48 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Brookdale of Findlay. Kathy was born on April 20, 1932 in Kalida, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Irene (Zeller) Westbeld. On August 5, 1950 she married Jerome “Jerry” Karcher and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1997.
Surviving Kathy are a son, Bradley D. (Lois) Karcher of Findlay; daughters, Sandra K. Patterson of Findlay, Nancy J. (Michael) Montgomery of Bakersfield, California and Lori A. Kent of Lima, Ohio; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-granchildren. A son, Gary A. Karcher, preceded his parents in death on June 21, 1997; a daughter, Mary Catherine Karcher, also died at birth. Son in law Terry L. Patterson preceded her death on September 10, 2024.
She is survived by a brother, Larry Westbeld of Kalida, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Hoffman and Charlene Routson, two brothers, Norman and Warren Westbeld, and brothers-in-law Harry Routson and Carl Hoffman, and sisters-in-law, Joan Westbeld, Tillie Westbeld and Irene Westbeld.
Kathy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, its Altar Rosary Society and the Leo Councilettes. She was a Eucharistic minister and a member of Ministry of Praise.
Kathy worked for over two decades at Bennett’s Furniture in McComb, Ohio.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 617 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, Ohio with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld, celebrant. The Altar Rosary Society will begin praying the rosary at 9:30am, on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Bridge Hospice, Findlay, Ohio, or the Leo Councilettes, Findlay, Ohio.
