John Mark Adler

John Mark Adler, 70, of Arcadia, Ohio passed away suddenly at 8:06PM on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the emergency room at Blanchard Valley Hospital.John was born on December 15, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Dallas F. and Marjorie D. (Murray) Adler. He married Diane John on June 29, 1974 and she survives along with their son, Nathan Adler.Also surviving are three brothers: Carl (Janelle) Adler, Paul (Laurie) Adler both of Columbus, and Dean (Janet) Adler of Findlay; a sister-in-law Sigrid Adler of Rochester, New York; seven nephews, and one niece. He was preceded in death by a brother Gary Adler. John worked in the maintenance department of BVH for about 20 years. John was an active member of First Lutheran Church. He took part in the council and property committees as well as working in the kitchen for the community dinners. He helped wherever he was needed.Music was a major part of John's life. He loved playing the baritone and tuba, having played in the Findlay Civic Band for over fifty years. He also played with the University of Findlay Symphonic Band. John was instrumental in starting a brass ensemble at First Lutheran Church. John also played in the hand bell choirs at several area churches, including The Old Millstream Ringers. He sang in church choirs all his life and had a wonderful bass voice. John had a willing heart and an infectious laugh that made anyone who heard it feel good and smile. He had a love for his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 starting at 3:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 109 East Lincoln Street, Findlay. Pastor Robert Corchran will officiate, and music will be provided by Miriam Gibson. Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
