James Wellman

James Wellman, 77, of Columbus Grove, formerly of Findlay, passed away at Toledo Promedica Hospital, on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 7:38pm. He was born to the late Kenneth and Sue (Kirk) Wellman on January 26, 1945, in Louisa, Kentucky. He married Donna Chase on August 15, 1964, and she survives.

Jim is also survived by a son, Steven (Elizabeth) Wellman of Dunkirk, Ohio, a daughter Michelle (Elliott) Krochmalny, of Mt. Cory, Ohio, eight grandchildren Joshua (Brittany), Dustin, Ashley (Brandon), Colten, Ethan, Kipp, Bailey and Caleb; as well as 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Luther (Kay) Wellman, John (Stella) Wellman, and sisters, Mary Garza and Marjorie Van Horn.

 In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwayne Wellman and Kenneth Wellman, who died in infancy.

Jim was an Army Veteran and also served in the Army National Guard Reserves. Jim was retired and he and Donna were members of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lima, Ohio.

Jim always enjoyed camping, tinkering with golf carts and cars in his garage and most of all being with his grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00- 3:00pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home, beginning at 3:00pm, officiated by Brother Mike Skinner.
