Gloria Sorg was called home by the Lord on May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and service.
Born on December 28, 1937, to Albert and Lillian (Wahmhoff) Hageman in Delphos, Ohio, Gloria was raised in a deeply faithful Catholic family. She attended St. John’s School in Delphos. Her parents instilled in her lifelong devotion to her faith. Gloria was the eldest of three children, sister Lois (Ron) Ponikvar, and her brother, Dennis (Kathy) Hageman.
On July 29, 1961, Gloria married the love of her life, Dennis Sorg who preceded her in death on January 28, 2016. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with six children: Karen (John) Wolf, Diane (Joe) Drabek, Kevin (Teresa) Sorg, Deborah (Tim) Bower, Kenneth (Traci) Sorg, and Donald (Amy) Sorg.
Her greatest joy was her growing family. Gloria was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Kristina, Jennifer, Jay, Ellen, Andrew, Alicia, Gregory, Austin, Geoffrey, Noah, Michael, Stephen, Chelsea, Zachary, Joshua, Lillian, Veronica, and William and 12 great grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
After graduating, Gloria began working at the Delphos Grain & Soya. A few months later, she was called to work at the Lima Ordnance Modification Center, where she worked until its closure. She later worked at the Ohio Oil Company in Findlay, then devoted her life to raising her children. After her children were grown, she pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by opening “Yogurt Sensation.” Gloria had a special talent and love for crafts, particularly restoring religious statues. A reflection of her strong personal devotion.
Gloria and Denny shared a love of traveling the world together. She also found great joy in baking, cooking, and making her beloved strawberry jam.
Her faith guided her service to others. Gloria served on the St. Michael School Board. She was a member of the pre-marriage team, Altar and Rosary Society, and Councilettes. Gloria also dedicated several years as a coordinator of hospital communion ministers, bringing comfort and the Eucharist to those in need.
Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassionate heart, and her devotion to her family and community. Her life was a testament to kindness, service, and trust in God.
She leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory and continue her legacy of love and faith.
