Gilbert Dale Cook

Gilbert Dale Cook “Gil” age 91 of Findlay, passed away at 6:50 am on September 13, 2023 at Birchaven Village.  He was born on November 17, 1931 in Washington, PA to Martin Louis and Blanch Elvelma (Seman) Cook, Sr. 

Gil was previously married to Norma Jean Richards, Laura Jean Overmyer, and Amy Jo Armstrong. He retired as an owner/operator of Cook Hydraulic Inc. of Wilmington, Ohio.

Gil is survived by his children: Sheri Lyn Cassidy of Waynesville, NC, Linda Sue Schurch of West Chester, OH, Connie Jean Cook of Menlo Park CA, Robyn Elaine Cook of Weaverville, NC, and John Mark Cook, Bloomville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and his companion Ann Thomas. 

He was preceded in death by a son; Rodney William Cook, and siblings; Dorothy Jean Gildow, Martin Louis Cook, and Helen Louise Byrly.

Gil was a member of the United States Marine Corp.  He was also a member of the Marine Corp League, DET995 and the OSHP Retiree Association. Gil had previously worked as a State Trooper in the 1st District of NW Ohio. He occasionally enjoyed a good cigar and an adult beverage.

In accordance with Gil’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time.
