Gerald E. "Jerry" Harden, 90, of Findlay passed away at 8:41 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Birchaven Village. Jerry was born in Ida, Michigan on March 18, 1932 to the late Clarence and Treva (Johnston) Harden. He married Nancy G. Miles on May 10, 1957 and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2017.Surviving are five children, Sandra K. (Mark) Wolber of Findlay, Dr. Amy J. Harden of Muncie, Indiana, Perry A. (Suzan) Harden of Findlay, Lori A. (Jim) Thompson of North Baltimore, Ohio, and Cynthia J. (Timothy) Adams of Findlay, six grandchildren, one great grandson and a great granddaughter.Also surviving are a half-brother, Don (Glenna) Plotts of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, step-brother, Alvin (Colleen) Feller of Arlington, Ohio and step sisters, Eileen Herman of Findlay, and Rosemary Richard of Arlington, Ohio.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna LaWarre and Alice Jean Harrison, and a brother, Edward Harden.Jerry was employed as an accountant for Marathon Oil Company for thirty plus years and was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, where he served as Treasurer for many years. He also was Treasurer for the Findlay Kiwanis Club for many years. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.Jerry was an avid sports fan and loved participating in bowling, golf and racquetball, well into his later years. He was one of the original coaches for the Hancock Soccer Association. He also coached both boys and girls J.V. soccer at Findlay High School and was an assistant varsity boys soccer coach. He also coached Little League baseball and Young Miss Softball. Jerry also was the time keeper for 35 years for Findlay High School soccer games.Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. There will also be an hour of visitation on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by the Hancock Veterans Memorial Squad.Memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 800 South Main Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840.Online condolences may be sent via www.kirkpatrickbehnke.com.
