George Franklin Waldman, 86, of Rawson, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, in Findlay, Ohio. He was born on October 10, 1936 in Putnam County to the late Ray Franklin and Dorothy (Wilson) Waldman. On October 14, 1956 George married Alice Mae Heuberger in Findlay and they were happily married for sixty-four and a half years. George was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughters, Sandra Sue Settlemire and Kathy Taylor; a sister, Linda K. Waldman; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence “Scooter” Breidenbach.
George is survived by his sons, Paul (Carol) Waldman of Mt Cory, OH, and Rusty (Melissa) Waldman of Rawson, OH; son-in-law Jeff Taylor of Findlay, OH; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Lee (Rose) Waldman; sister, Donna Jean Breidenbach; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
George retired from Findlay High School where he was a Machine Trades Instructor. He was a faithful man of God, and attended the Good Shepherd Church of Benton Ridge. George was a member of North Central Ohio Cushman Motor Scooter Club of America, and the Vintage Bike Club of America. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family. George was an influential man to the ones he came into contact with. He loved others like Christ, and was a gentle and caring man.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday July 25,2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, OH. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 26,2023, at Good Shepherd Church of Benton Ridge, 105 North Main Street, Benton Ridge, OH. Burial will follow at Benton Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bridge Home Health and Hospice of Findlay.
