Gary R. Altman

Gary R. Altman, 78, of rural Arlington, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care, in The Heritage, Findlay, Ohio. He was born to the late Richard and Martha (Griep) Altman on January 27, 1947, in Findlay, Ohio.

On August 29, 1971, he married Linda Fiser and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2022.

Gary attended and graduated from Findlay High School in 1965 and then from The Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1973. Dr. Altman served the Findlay area community through his dental practice until 2022, retiring when his wife Linda passed away.

Gary is also survived by a son David R. (Alaina) Altman of Arlington and a daughter, Susan R. Wittenmyer of Findlay; sisters Connie (Barry) Groseclose of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Joyce (Eli) Hershberger of Carey, and Diane Altman of Kenton and a brother Randy (Janet) Altman of Findlay, grandchildren Ava and Evan Altman, Tobey and Laurey Wittenmyer; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gary loved family camping trips to the Smokies, gospel and bluegrass music, walking his daughter’s dog, Hershey and visiting Amish Country with Linda. Since their 25th wedding anniversary, Gary and Linda would celebrate by spending several days in Holmes County. His real love was Linda and their grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home 500 Lima Avenue. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Gregg Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Gary at The James Cancer Center, OSU Wexner Medical Center, The Heritage and Hospice.
