Eugene "Gene" F. Preston

Eugene F. “Gene” Preston, 89 of Findlay, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Friday July 12, 2024 at Birchaven Retirement Community. He was born on August 1, 1934 in Lima, Ohio, and his father Kenneth Preston preceded him in death.  Gene married Janie Partin and she also preceded him in death on January 18, 2019.

Gene is survived by a granddaughter, Mendi Velazquez of Arlington (Mario Velazquez of Findlay); two great-granddaughters; and a daughter-in-law, Patty Preston. Gene was preceded in death by two sons, Darryl Preston and Garry Preston.

Gene attended the Bible Methodist Church in Findlay. He enjoyed watching Ice Hockey and Major League Baseball, taking walks outdoors in the parks and walking at the Findlay Village Mall. He worked as a tire builder for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company before his retirement.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Travis J. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, south of Ada, Ohio.
