Betty Kill, 98, passed away peacefully at home at 11:31 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021.Betty was born on September 6, 1922 to the late Anthony and Hilda (Wurst) Weber in Ottoville, Ohio. She married Francis Kenneth "Kenny" Kill on May 21, 1949 at St. John's Catholic Church in Delphos, Ohio and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2012 after nearly 63 years of marriage.Betty is survived by five children: Kayleen M. (John Rice) Kill of Houston, Texas, Karl C. (Carol Rickard) Kill of Powell, Ohio, Patricia A. Kill of Springboro, Ohio, Susan M. Kill of Findlay and John F. (Anne Quinn) Kill of Houston, Texas. There are 4 loving grandchildren, Chris & Katie Kill of Powell, Ohio and Jack & Nicholas Kill of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by an older brother, Richard Weber of Fort Wayne, Indiana and a younger sister, Ruth Gibson of Lima.She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Schmit of Delphos, brother, Robert Weber of Lima, sisters-in-law, Angela Weber, Louise Weber and Eleanora Kill, brothers-in-law Robert Gibson, Robert Schmit, Arnold Kill, and James O'Connor.Betty graduated in 1940 from Delphos St. John's High School and then worked in the offices of the Delphos Bending Co. She and Kenny married and moved to Findlay in 1949. In 1975, she and Kenny founded Kill Brake & Wheel Co. and she worked part-time as a bookkeeper for the business. Betty was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and a charter member of the Leo Councilettes. She and Kenny were active members and officers of Kenny's 781st Bomb Squadron Association of World War II veterans. For over 30 years they were also members of a monthly dinner group they shared with their best friends.First and foremost, Betty loved her family, and her life was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, having visited almost every state and loved the Bomb Squadron reunions, doing jigsaw puzzles and growing flowers. Her favorite sport was watching basketball. She especially loved the Findlay High and Fostoria St. Wendelin High School teams as well as the University of Dayton, Ohio State and Notre Dame. For 25 years, she and Kenny held season basketball tickets at the University of Dayton, during and long after their three daughters attended and graduated from UD. For 50 years, they had season basketball tickets at Findlay High School. March Madness was a busy time for Betty as she followed her NCAA brackets throughout the tournament. For years she attended mass and prayed the rosary daily. Betty never lost her pleasant demeanor, kindness or beautiful smile.The family would especially like to thank the nurses (Joy and Misty) and aides (Shanna and Rebecca) from Bridge Hospice for their gentle care and helpful guidance during the journey over the past 2 ½ years. And special thank yous to Sue Pepple and Karis Leal for being both a friend to and a caregiver for our Mom the last few years.The family will receive visitors from 3-6 pm on Thursday, May 6 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 pm on Thursday.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, May 7 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio) with Monsignor Michael Hohenbrink presiding. The service will be live streamed through the St. Michael's website (www.findlaystmichael.org). Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.
