Don E. “Stew” Bauman, 92 of Findlay, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, January
24, 2026 at his residence. Don was born on June 16,1933 in Findlay to the late Paul L.
and Clara (Kramer) Bauman. He married Patricia Maine on August 30, 1958, and she
survives. They celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage!
Don is also survived by a son, Stuart (Cathi) Bauman of Cincinnati, Ohio; two
daughters, Beth Waddell of Findlay, and Amy Jo (Tim) Boes of Nokomis, Florida and
seven grandchildren, Matthew Waddell, Chad Boes, Stefani Bauman, Ryan Boes, Zach
Bauman, Alex Waddell, and Michael Boes. He was also gifted with eight great-
grandchildren Jameson, Lennon, Savannah, Sadie, Grayson, Harper, Paxton and Nolan.
Don was preceded in death by his sisters Barb Graul and Ginny Schafer.
Don graduated from Findlay High School in 1951. The next four years were spent at
Miami University. He was a member of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He
graduated from Miami in 1955. GO SKINS!!!!
Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Cooper Industrial
Products (a division of Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.) where he was a Senior Marketing
Coordinator. Don was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and the
Findlay Elks Club.
Don was also an avid supporter of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where along with
staying active with the Sigma Chi chapter, he was also a member in the Red and White
Club and the Prodesse Society! Again……Go Skins!
His passion for the game of golf has been well documented over the years! Don
traveled to Scotland (home of golf) 33 times to play the famous golf courses. A highlight
for him was taking his kids “across the pond” so they could experience what brought
their dad so much joy! SCOTLAND FOREVER!! And “always play the ball as it lies!”
His highest honor was just being “Dad” and later in life “Papa!” His best times were just
hanging out on Lime Street with the “gang” Also known as the Shrader Family!
He is now hanging out at the 19th hole with all of his pals who have been waiting for
him. As he always said, besides GO SKINS, was “Find joy in your life everyday” He
sure did!!!
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840, followed by a memorial service beginning at 11:30am. Private burial will be Maple Grove Cemetery.
