Dennis James Hopkins

Dennis James Hopkins, 70, of Findlay and formerly Ottawa, OH, passed away on April 2, 2022.Denny was born on January 30, 1952 to Forest and Betty (Kuhlman) Hopkins in Lima, Ohio. After graduation from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, he primarily worked at Phillips in Ottawa, OH until working for Steel Technologies from where he retired. He was predeceased by his father, Forest Hopkins; mother, Betty (Kuhlman-Hopkins) Reed; stepfather, William Reed; and his brothers Allen Hopkins, Richard Hopkins, and Charles Reed. Surviving are his children with spouses and grandchildren: Richard and Robin (Shanaberger) Hopkins with children Isabelle and Grayson Hopkins, and Jamie (Hopkins) and Scott Austermiller with children Griffin and Cohen Austermiller. Surviving siblings and spouses: Rodney and Janet (Michel-Cervantes) Hopkins, Forest and Deborah (Croft) Hopkins, Leon Hopkins, Dean and Angie (Baumgartner) Reed, Patrick Reed, and Linda (Ridinger) and John Warnecke.Denny had a compassionate soul and was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his children and grandchildren and provided his constant support. He was well-recognized and loved on the sidelines and in the stands at sporting events and concerts as a number one fan cheering on his grandkids. Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving father and grandfather a family could ask for.Denny had a love of the outdoors and spent many years camping, fishing, and target shooting in addition to bowling and playing softball. When not spending time outdoors, he could often be found in front of a radio or tv catching some Tiger baseball, seeing how the "Bucks" or Lions were doing, or staying updated with the Titans, Trojans, and Eagles. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Bridge Home Health and Hospice in Denny's name. The family requests that any flowers and notes are sent to Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay, OH. There will be a visitation celebration of life on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home (500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, OH 45840) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Downtown Church (617 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, OH 45840) with Fr.
