Debra Sue Keeler (Hovest), age 55, passed away on August 23, 2023 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on April 4,1968 in Lima, Ohio to Melvin and Mary Janet (Schulte) Hovest.
Deb married William Keeler on June 16, 1990 and he survives. They spent 33 loving years together. They enjoyed traveling, camping, and riding motorcycles.
Also surviving are a daughter, Amber (Garrett) Harkness, Rockport, OH, and a step-son, Keith Keeler, Jenera, OH. A sister, Diane (Steve) Shulaw, Elida, OH and three brothers Dan (Cathy) Hovest, Columbus Grove, OH, Don (Lisa) Hovest, Columbus Grove, OH, and Doug (Jennifer) Hovest of VA; brother-in-law Brian Keeler, Bluffton, OH, and five grandchildren Paige, Kyleigh, Brent, Khloe, Lilly and father-in-law, William Keeler.
Deb was also loved and treasured by a network of many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her father Melvin, brother Roger, nephew Tyler, sister-in-law Brenda, brother-in-law Brent, and mother-in-law Laura Keeler .
She retired from Hearthside Food Solution (formerly Consolidated Biscuit Company) where she worked for 35 years. She was a graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School in 1986 and attended Owens Community College.
During the summer, Deb enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. Her hobbies included photography, gardening, reading, and scrapbooking. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and playing cards with the gang. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her “girls” Paige, Onna, and Carly.
In lieu of flowers, her family would like others to donate to the National ALS Association http://www.alsa.org/donate/giving/gifts-in-tribute.html . We hope these and other donations will help find a cure for this disease.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Ruth Whitaker officiating.
