Carlene P. Stillberger, 63, of Oak Harbor and formerly of Findlay, passed away peacefully at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 17, 1962, in Findlay, to the late Glenn “Bud” and Betty Lou (Flugga) Carpenter. On June 25, 1994, she married Terence “Terry” Stillberger, who survives.
Carlene is also survived by two daughters from a previous marriage, Laurie (Walter) Sadler and Lisa (Anthony) Simon, both of Findlay; four cherished grandchildren, Carlee Simon, Spencer Sadler, Kaylee Simon, and Hudson Sadler; a stepdaughter, Jessica (Cory) Schwartz; two sisters, Julie (Joe) Fogle and Kelly (Jeff) Hasse; and a brother, John (Sue) Carpenter and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Lobdell.
Carlene retired after 38 years of dedicated service from Blanchard Valley Hospital, having spent most of that time in patient financial services. Her deep love for her grandchildren was evident in her constant support at their events—she may have even had a few spirited words with officials along the way.
She was a longtime member of Findlay Moose Lodge #698, as well as a proud “glamper” at Paradise Acres Campground in Oak Harbor. There, she built lifelong friendships with her camp family and the many campground kids who adored her. Known for her generosity and big heart, Carlene never met a stranger and would give the last of what she had to anyone in need.
She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes and never passed up a chance to hit the dance floor.
Carlene’s vibrant spirit, boundless kindness, and unshakable love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. following visitation. Private burial will be at a later date.
