Carl Huth Obituary

Carl John Huth III, 77, of Findlay, Ohio passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 6, 2024.
 

Carl was born on November 3, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Carl F. and June (Mackling) Huth Jr. He graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School in 1964.
 

After graduation, Carl enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967, as part of the 7th Engineer Battalion.
 

Carl met and married his love, Barbara Polen in 1978 and she survives.

Carl loved his children, Chad (Carrie) Huth, Heather (Jerry Riffe) Huth, Emily (RJ) Huth- Parker and Kati (Josh) Brandeberry. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to eight grandchildren: Sidney (Brandon) Gaston, Olivia (Chris) Pennington, Alli Beckley, Harley Huth, Jared, Piper and Graham Brandeberry and Lux Parker. He had one great grandson, Taylor Gaston and is survived by his siblings; Rick (Peggy) Huth, Debi (Dave) Wilson, Kevin Huth, Mike (Lori) Huth, Bonnie  (Jim) Zidd, Heidi (Dennis) Burns and Troy (Lori) Huth as well as a host of family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
 

Carl was employed at Whirlpool after his military service. Carl also worked for the Community Action Commission as the Director of Housing and Weatherization Program, and served as an Executive Director for Hancock County Habitat for Humanity.
 

Carl was a talented craftsman who made wooden Oval Shaker Boxes. He loved working on boxes so much he instructed others to create the beautiful boxes. He was led in his instruction by famed box maker John Wilson of Michigan. Carl could be found in his workshop during his retirement working on gifts for family and friends or helping John Wilson with classes. He was a five time winner for early American craftsmanship from the Early American Life magazine.  Additionally, Carl was passionate about soccer; a love that began with his son, Chad. Carl loved coaching and watching soccer. Carl coached soccer at all levels, from youth to collegiate. He coached several successful youth soccer teams, including the Findlay Kids.

Anyone who knew Carl knew that he was a loving father and spouse a family could have asked for. Carl was predeceased by his mother, June, his father Carl.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
