The skies parted, and the angels descended, escorting Bona Bell Waller up to the Heavens to join her beloved husband of sixty-three years-John R. Waller Sr.
Bona, 94, of Findlay, passed away at 3:25 A.M. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Manor at Greendale. She was born on May 4, 1929, to the late Ralph and Dory (Gray) Crawfis in Bluffton, Ohio. On March 16, 1953, she married the love of her life, John R. Waller in Decatur, IN. They enjoyed sixty-three years of bliss together. Bona and John were the proud parents of four boys: John R. Waller Jr. (Susan) of Yorktown, VA; Joseph L. Waller (Debra Young) of Van Buren, OH; Jeffrey S. Waller (Sallie) of Forest, OH; and Jerry D. Waller (Karan) of Findlay, OH.
There were sixteen grandchildren: Jennifer, John III, Joyce, Janice, Joshua, Jessica, Jordan, Jazmine, Justin, Jayla, Julie, Jeffrey Jr. Jodie, Jamie, Emily, and Jeremy (deceased).
J's seemed to continuously run in the Waller family. There are forty-four great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
There is one surviving sister: Beverly Hooker of Bluffton and one surviving sister-in-law Carolyn Arnold (Jerry) of Mt. Victory.
Bona was preceded in death by two sisters; Betty (Jim) Gockerman and Bernice (Louie) Gossard; three brothers-in-law; William (Mary) Waller, Harold (Carol) Waller, and Lloyd (Sharon) Waller; and two sisters-in-law; Dorothy (Dale Sr.) Hill and Velma (Jim) Miller.
Bona retired from Bendix-Autolite. She loved her family and grandkids. They brought joy and pride into her life. She loved her puppy dogs, especially schnauzers. Silver Bell was her constant companion after the death of her beloved husband John.
She enjoyed collecting angels, having hundreds throughout her home. She also enjoyed nature, the outdoors, traveling, and flowers.
Her best friend of fifty years was Gwen McLaughlin who was also a constant companion and good neighbor. Bona was a member of the Van Buren Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be held at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home Thursday August 10, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Friday August 11,2023, from 10 am until the time of service. The Funeral Service will be at 11am at the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Kelly Sterling. The Burial will follow at Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren, Ohio 45889.
