Betty Jean Jones

Betty Jean Jones, 81, of Findlay passed away at 6:09 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Birchaven Village. She was born on August 27, 1940 in Lima, Ohio to the late Richard and Ethel (Miller) Schindler. She was also known as "Boots," a nickname given to her by her father.Betty is survived by her children, Billy Springer of Findlay, Ed Springer and Kimberly Springer, both of Mt. Blanchard; sister, Cheryl (Robert) Sanchez of Findlay; and brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Schindler of Lima. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her son, Gary Allen Bowman; sister, Nora Mae Swallow; and brothers, Larry Dale and Gregory David Schindler. Betty worked at Findlay Industries for many years and later on went to work at Meijer, where she retired after ten years. She spent the last six years of her life with her companion, Bill Hogrefe. Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed watching them play in her free time. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday January 31, 2022 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay Ohio 45840. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Will Stenke officiating.
