Betty L. (Smith) Brown

Betty L. Brown, age 93, of Findlay passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Betty was born on July 17,1931, to the late James Gearld and Ruby (Aldrich) Smith, in Trenton Township, Henry County, Iowa. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa High School and attended one year of college in Kirksville, Missouri.

Surviving Betty are her children: Pamela Starr (Mark Rosenberger) and Gregg (Dottie) Hauman both of Findlay; and Kim (Rick) Cairnes of The Woodlands, Texas. Betty is also survived by her grandchildren: Angela (Rodney) Woods, Kerri Hauman (Todd Boak), Aaron Hauman, and Hannah (Jamie) Torrance; three great-grandchildren: Lynann Matheny and Reed and Ellis Boak.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Haines of Winfield, Iowa; grandson Jason Ward of Findlay and great-grandson Mason Ward.

Betty was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church of Findlay, The Trinity Cut-Ups and the Augsburg Circle. She was also a volunteer at the Blanchard Valley Hospital through its Auxiliary.  She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and taking care of her family.  Betty also worked at JC Penney’s in the catalog department for many years.

A private family service and burial will take place at a later date.
