Alvin Bell Obituary

Alvin R. Bell, 82 of Findlay, passed away at 11:28 pm on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at The Heritage Nursing Home.. Al was born to the late Clarence Albert and Bernice (Helle) Bell on April 23, 1940 in Martin, Ohio, Ottawa County. On June 25, 1988 he married Judith E. Musone at Trinity Lutheran Church in Findlay, Ohio and she survives. He is also survived by his children, David (Erica) Bell of Berkeley, CA; Anthony (Pamela) Musone of Lawrenceville, GA; Timothy Musone of Findlay, OH; brothers, Robert (Delma), Donald (Judi) and Kenneth (Lois) Bell; four grandchildren, Madison Bell, Ayleah, James and Jacob Musone, and a sister-in- law Beverly Bell. Al was proceeded in death by a son Richard Bell and a brother Charles Bell.Al was a graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School in 1958. He earned his bachelors and master's degrees from The Ohio State University, and was employed by Findlay City Schools as a high school social studies teacher for 36 years, until he retired in 2000. Al was an active and dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church on West Bigelow Ave. in Findlay. Al enjoyed being a part of CISV (Children's International Summer Village). In fact, it's how he met Judy. Al started the "We the People" program at Findlay High School, taking many teams to state and national competitions. He continued to work with this group after he retired up until March of 2020.He was involved with the Ohio Center for Law Related Education. Al impacted many lives through his work with the Center for Civic Education, serving as a mentor for teachers nationally and internationally. After he retired, besides traveling with Judy, he worked with the Ohio Supreme Court.The family will receive friends on Thursday June 23, 2022 from 3-5pm at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Ave. in Findlay. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 at 11am at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. Al's wishes were to be cremated, and Maple Grove Cemetery will be his final resting placeMemorials can be made in Alvin's name to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter, 480 W.
