Alda Louise Wagner Hymes, 92, of Findlay, died peacefully at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Birchaven Village. Alda was born on November 8, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Harry and Mary (Copenhaver) Wagner. She married Charles M. Hymes on September 7, 1951 in Braddock, PA., and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2010.Alda is survived by a son, Charles M. (Joann) Hymes, Jr. of Sanford, Florida; two grandchildren, Jonathan (Kim) Hymes of Sanford, FL and Charles M. Hymes III of Honolulu, HI; and three great-grandchildren.Alda had one sister Jane Mangus and was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Jane.Alda graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV, with a bachelor's degree in nutrition and was formerly employed as a dietitian at Blanchard Valley Hospital and a nutrition teacher at Findlay College. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, and formerly volunteered at the Hancock Historical Museum and the Blanchard Valley Hospital auxiliary.There will be no visitation or funeral service locally. A family memorial service will be held at the Heavner Cemetery in West Virginia at a later date.Memorials may be made in her honor to the Hancock Historical Society, 422 W.
