Daniel F. Grieb
Obituary Service Details Condolences

Daniel F. Grieb, 84 of Findlay died peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Fox Run Assisted Living. He was a long-time resident of Findlay, Ohio and the son of H. Ward and Gladys (Kamman) Grieb. He was born on January 25, 1934 in Findlay, Ohio. He is survived by his sister, Connie Kramer and her husband, Joe Kramer. Dan went to school at Lincoln Elementary, Donnell Junior High and Findlay Senior High schools. He graduated from Wittenberg University with a BS in Pre-Law and was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He started graduate law studies at Ohio State University, but chose to leave to join the Army. He worked for five years with the Army, responsible for administrating the movement of soldiers to various locations. His real desire was to be assigned to a combat position like his father, but there was no active war at the time. After completing his service with the Army, Dan started selling clothing for Lazarus. Soon after, he started a long, successful career as a sales manager for the Cutler Corporation selling children's clothing. He joked about being an expert on children's clothing although he had no children of his own. His customers loved him. Dan was very active in the St. John's Lutheran Church, following in the footsteps of his father who was a minister at the church and who led the construction of the church at its current location on Tiffin Avenue in Findlay more than forty years ago. Dan was active in many church committees and often served as an usher. Dan loved to travel. He traveled all over the world. He also loved to vacation every summer at Lakeside, Ohio to reunite with his extended family. Lastly, he will be particularly missed by his fellow members of the Elks Club and the American Legion. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 starting at 1:00 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME 500 Lima Ave Findlay, Ohio with the Rev. Doris Harris Mars officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.kirkpatrickbehnke.com.
