Wilbur J. Fenbert, 92, of Findlay, passed away at 11:29 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2016. He was born on November 29, 1923 in Ottawa, OH to the late Louis J. and Martha B. (Callaghan) Fenbert. On February 1, 1947 he married Alice DeGraeve; and they shared 62 years together before her passing on October 5, 2009.
Surviving are his children, Robert (Beulah) Fenbert, Smyrna, TN; Marsha (Keith) Rolston, Findlay; Michael Fenbert, Findlay; and James Fenbert, Newport News, VA; seven grandchildren, Ian, Lindsay, Amy, Mindy, Allison, Lorrie and Tiffany; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Fenbert an infant, Martha Closson, Loretta Frost; and two brothers, Thomas W. Fenbert and Paul S. Fenbert.
Wilbur was a former co-owner of Wilson's Sandwich Shop. He also served his country in the U.S. Army from September 1943 to January 1946.
Wilbur was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Ralph D. Cole Post #3 American Legion, V.F.W. Post #5645, D.A.V., Amvets Post #21 and the Findlay Moose Lodge #698.
Visitation hours for family and friends are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay with a Rosary Service beginning around 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 617 West Main Cross Street, Findlay. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery with military rites by the Hancock Veterans Memorial Squad.
