Margarita Gonzalez, age 72 of Findlay, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Toledo Hospital. Margarita was born on April 20, 1948 in Laredo, Texas to Francisco and Sixta (Sifuentes) Sarabia, Jr. Margarita was married to her husband Alfonso Gonzalez, Jr. on November 18, 1967. He preceded her in death recently on January 12, 2021. She is survived by children, Alfonso Jesus (Angela) Gonzalez of Toledo, OH, Ricardo "Rick" (Norma) Gonzalez of Findlay, OH, Javier (Jenny) Gonzalez of Findlay, OH, Leticia Gonzalez of Laredo, TX, and Patricia (Martin) Sanchez of Findlay, OH; grandchildren Isabella M. Gonzalez, Martin E. Gonzalez, Andrea L. Gonzalez, Xylina C. Gonzalez, Gabriella B. Gonzalez, Yvonni E. Gonzalez, Gabriel M. Gonzalez, Dominic X. Gonzalez, Alexandra G. Gonzalez, and Mateo Sanchez; and two great grandchildren Leah M. and Ava L. Miller. She is survived by siblings Francisco Sarabia (wife Reina Sarabia deceased), Armando Sarabia (wife Victoria Sarabia deceased), Irma (Eusebio) Saavedra, Luciano (Edna) Sarabia, and Andres (Juana) Sarabia. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law Vicente (Manuela) Sarabia. Margarita was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay. She was a part of the Cursillo Movement, the Bereavement Team, and sang in the St. Michael Catholic Funeral Choir. She was active in the Guadalupe Society, Guadalupe Choir, Posadas, and assisted with masses and donated food to migrant camps. Mom and Dad vowed to be wedded as husband and wife to have and to hold, from that day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do them part. And yet. Death could not part them! They stayed true to each other, as they had promised God. Mom followed Dad to heaven on January 30, 2021, just 18 days after our father's passing. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. Rosary will be prayed at 6:45 p.m. A joint Mass of Christian Burial for both Margarita and Alfonso will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio starting at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld celebrant and Fr. Marty Nassr co-celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Those attending are asked to wear masks and social distance due to COVID-19.
