The beloved Darnell Parker, Sr., age 64 of Findlay, passed away peacefully with his wife of 41 years by his side at 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. Darnell was born on December 24, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Willie Dan Parker and Earleen (Wooley) Wilson. On June 2nd 1979, Darnell married Nina Sherard. She survives, along with sons, Darnell Parker, Jr., of Cincinnati, Ohio, Burgess Parker of Findlay Ohio; grandchildren Alexis and Madison Parker Cincinnati Ohio, Braden Parker, Calliope Laureano, and Gianna Sherard of Findlay Ohio; and siblings Robert Charles Parker, Deborah Roe, Reginald Parker Sr., Jerome Parker, Charlene Williams, Pauline Jones, Raymond W. Wilson Jr, Randy W Wilson, Shelia Berry, Carolyn Moss, Derrick Jackson. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by sisters Willa Dean Parker, Arnetta Gardner, and Tracie M Sherard. Darnell was a graduate of Purcell Marian Catholic High School in Cincinnati where he starred in football, basketball and baseball, and received a Bachelor's Degree at Defiance College where he played football and baseball and was inducted to the Athletic Hall of Fame. He created and ran the Adult and Juvenile Diversion program for Hancock County, as well as working in sales for Eckrich and Triumph Thermal Systems. Darnell was an avid Christian who made it his life's mission to spread the word and bring God's message to everyone that he met. These missions included his roles as President of the Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center, President of Century Health and Founder of the Mentoring Men for a Higher Calling program. Darnell adored his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them! Darnell lived a good life and is now at peace with his heavenly father, looking down and smiling on his family. In Lieu of flowers or gifts the family asks that donations be made in order to support Darnell's oldest son's cancer fight expenses.
