Werner W. Luedeker, 80 of Findlay died at 5:35 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center.
Werner was born on August 26, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Henry A. and Sophie (Hagemeier) Luedeker.
Werner married Rosemary Bennett on June 16, 1962 and she survives along with a son, Todd Luedeker of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Lisa (Noel) Hazen of Findlay; two brothers, Ralph L. (Rose) Luedeker of Cape Cod, MA, Billy L. (Linda, deceased) Luedeker of Madeira, Ohio; three grandchildren, Alex, Brad and Shelby; and a great granddaughter, Calliope.
Werner was a 1958 graduate of Mariemont High School in Cincinnati. He attended the University of Cincinnati before transferring to Findlay College where he received a degree in English and Social Studies. He later received a Masters degree in Administration from Bowling Green State University.
Werner retired from Donnell Middle School in 1993 after 30 years, where he taught History, English and Social Studies and also coached football, track and field and wrestling.
He also was employed at Sycamore Springs Golf Club for twenty years, and worked for Ohio Engineers/S.E. Johnson for 27 summers.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 2330 South Main Street at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 with Pastor Jessica Commeret officiating.
Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, masks are required and social distancing should be observed whenever possible while attending the memorial service.
