Her family would like to thank everyone who cared for Vicky during her battle with Covid-19 and its complications. We are especially grateful to the dedicated ICU physicians, Drs. Chary, Fadul, Lopez and Rimmer, who did everything in their power to save her life, and when it became clear that her time was over, gave us the opportunity to say goodbye with dignity and grace. We want to thank Drs. Ratnasamy, Iboaya, Pathan and Zhou for their caring expertise and attention to detail. We are immensely grateful to all of the nurses, respiratory therapists and numerous support staff who cared for her over the past month in the ICU. They were tireless, compassionate and meticulous in their devotion to her comfort and well-being. And lastly we want to thank Dr. Steve Mills, her thoughtful primary care physician for many years, who treated her not only as a patient, but as a friend. We are deeply appreciative to all of those who walked this journey with our family. Vicky will be remembered for her love of God, her generosity of spirit and her devotion to her family. Her unshakable faith in God and His love sustained her throughout her life. She constantly reminded us to "pray without ceasing". Throughout life's challenges, she always put others first. She was the most steadfast champion, always encouraging and supporting those around her. Her greatest joy was her family and friends who she treated like family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. And while we will miss her here on Earth, we take solace in knowing that she is now with God. When the pandemic is over and it is safe for her family and friends to gather and pay their respects, Vicky will be laid to rest next to her mother in College Corner, Indiana where she grew up. Memorials may be sent to Blanchard Valley Health System or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in her memory. Arrangements are being handled by KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME.
