Robert "Bobby" Wallace Holmes, age 61, passed away at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.
Bobby was born on June 23, 1959 to the late Robert L. Holmes, and Christa Joan Holmes (Mitchell) in Findlay, Ohio.
On September 11, 2010, Bobby was married to Danita (Jackson). She survives along with three step children Joshua Tattrie (Laura); Jeromy Tattrie (Amanda); Michaela Alfaro; and daughter Rachel (Joshua) Morris. Bob had 11 grandchildren with 1 more on the way in April. Also surviving are brothers Thomas (Barb) Holmes, and Jim (Deb) Holmes; sister Chris (Bob) McMonigal; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; previous wife, and lifelong friend, Marge Warner; and his beloved Dobermans, Rusty, Bandit, and past Chocolate dog and Pepper.
He was a 1978 graduate of Findlay High School, where he excelled in carpentry. He went on work at Parker Lumber Company. He then went on to become a firefighter for the City of Findlay, and retired after 29 years of service. He also owned his own construction company, Holmes Construction, which he ran with his brother, Jim. God gifted him great carpentry talent and he was so proud of the beautiful homes he built and remodeled around the Findlay area.
In his younger years, Bobby loved spending summers at Hamilton Lake, Indiana with his parents and siblings where they would have wild, and wonderful adventures. As an adult, he continued to "go to the lake" often, to visit friends.
Bobby didn't know a stranger, and loved to socialize and "BS".
Danita would like to express her eternal gratitude to Bobby's loyal and loving friends and family for all the help they provided her and Bobby during his battle with ALS. She would also like to thank the PHAALS Foundation for their caring friendship and support.
A visitation will be held for friends and family of Bobby on Wednesday, Oct 28, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Terry McBeath and Pastor James Ervin officiating.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Bobby to ALS Association, Central & Southern Ohio Chapter or PHAALS Foundation, Fort Jennings, OH.
Bobby will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
