Dean Suter, 77 of Findlay died on Monday, August 31, 2020 3:03 p.m. at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center.
Dean was born on January 29, 1943 in Jackson Township, Hancock County, to the late Richard Suter and Lotta (Vansant) Houck.
On August 3, 1968 Dean was married to Lori Rand at St. Hilary's Catholic Church in Fairlawn, Ohio. She survives along with their children Michelle Suter of Findlay, Steve (Cindy) Suter of Bascom, Ohio, and Barb (Eric) Schmenk of Plain City, Ohio; grandchildren Lauren, Riley, Walker and Owen Suter; and siblings David (Arlene) Suter of Massachusetts, Rosalyn (Bob) Bowman of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, Jane (Ernie) Keen of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Clyde (Susie) Bame of Perrysburg, Ohio and Wanda (Ron) Smith of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Esther and Art McDaniel.
Dean was a 1961 graduate of Arlington High School. He worked for Mac and Bob's Wrecker Service, Daugherty Trucking, Avco Meat Company, and was the owner and manager of the Walnut Saloon in Findlay for 38 years.
Dean served on the Hancock County Planning Committee from 1989-1994, and was the Mayor of Arlington from 1989-1992.
Dean was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, and the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW, and DAV.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 3-6:00 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. Visitors are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing when possible due to COVID-19.
