Nancy Kay Rankin Reiter, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Born on September 14, 1946 and raised in Akron, Ohio to John W. Rankin Jr. and Gladia Mae Marlowe, she was a 1964 graduate of Akron Garfield High School.
Nancy was very talented, creative, and witty and shared these talents in Musical Maidens, being President of the Voris PTA and co-founder of the Akron Rising Star who performed at the 1982 Knoxville, Tennessee World's Fair. She also co-founded Vans To Go and enjoyed playing her saxophone in the Goodyear Band. Second only to her children was her love of the BeeGees and the Everly Brothers.
Nancy dedicated her life to her three girls Jo Ann (Greg) Stokes of Cresco, PA, Jennifer (Roby) Breitigam of Jenera, OH, and Jenene (Ted) Hanlon of Sullivan, OH, and her twelve grandchildren, Kathryn, Lauren, Morgan, Caleb (Courtney), Noah, Kayla, Rachel, James, Iveanna, J'Vontre, Jaynashia, and Nathan, as well as two great grandsons. Also surviving are several close loving extended family members and friends.
Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Bob (Nancy) Rankin and sister Barbara (Eileen) Rankin.
KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, Ohio is assisting with arrangements. Due to the current COVID19 threat, a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Nancy wanted donations to be made to Cure Gm1 Foundation, curegm1.org.
