Evelyn L. Hauman, 94 of Findlay, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Catherines Care Center of Findlay. Evelyn was born on July 18, 1925 in Lima, Ohio to the late Joseph E. and Emma May (Ward) Basinger. On August 31, 1945 Evelyn married Richard L. Hauman and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2008.
She is survived by a nephew, Dirk (Becky) Ewing of Orofino, Idaho; two great nieces, Amber & Dr. Jeff Pederson and Dr. Alicia Ewing; and a great nephew, Cougar Ewing. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Basinger, Jr., and a sister, Ruth Maxine Ewing.
Evelyn was a loyal employee of National Lime and Stone for 70 plus years. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church and attended church every Sunday, sitting in the same pew until her hearing started to fail. Aunt E was a longtime member of the Findlay Country Club and played in the Wednesday Ladies Golf League up until a few years ago. She loved the little town of Columbus Grove, Ohio where the family grew up on a small farm. Evelyn was a longtime Findlay resident. She and her husband Richard came back to Findlay after the end of WW II. She loved the Findlay area and enjoyed her life here.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Catherines Manor-Memory Care Unit as they went above and beyond in caring for Aunt Evelyn, they are truly special people. We also want to thank Bridge Home Hospice for their care.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will be private with Rev. Jessica Commeret officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2330 South Main Street, or to Bridge Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, both of Findlay, Ohio 45840.
