Dorothy Mae (Krauss) Kagy of Primrose Retirement Community in Findlay, age 92, passed away at 5:04 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
She was born on March 8, 1927 in Bloomville, Ohio to Glenn and Orpha (Osborne) Stuckey. She married Don V. Krauss on March 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2004. She later married Stephen Kagy, and they were divorced. She was also preceded in death by son Steven Dale Krauss in 2016, and a sister, Marjorie Beall.
She is survived by six daughters, Carolyn Leach (husband Howard deceased) of Indianapolis, IN, Connie (Donald) Walter of Findlay, Cathy (Denny) Marquette of Van Buren, Sandra Benson of Columbus Grove, Sue (Paul) Young of Richmond, VA, and Jill Hackworth (husband Dar deceased) of Helena, MT.
She had 12 grandchildren: Noah Walter, Breanna (Marquette) Keller, Ryan Marquette, Nicole (Benson) McDaniel, Dane Benson, Melinda (Benson) Farinas, Brooke (Young) Jackson, Tyler Young, Bethany Young, Jacob Hackworth, Haley (Hackworth) Feuerstein, and Reed Hackworth. She has eleven great grandchildren.
Dorothy graduated from Bloomville High School in 1945 and graduated from Toledo School of Nursing as an RN. She worked at Toledo Hospital, Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, and did some in home private nursing.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, her ladies card club, sewing, crocheting, raising her seven children, and running her family farm with her husband. She was also an excellent cook and baker.
She was a volunteer with Red Cross blood drives, Chopin Hall, and was a member of the Powell Memorial United Methodist Church of Findlay.

Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. A funeral service will follow starting at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with her son-in-law Donald Walter officiating. Burial to follow at Knollcrest Gardens, west of Arcadia.
