Rosita Harper, 72 of Findlay, passed away at 10:17 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital Emergency Room.
Rosita was born on December 2, 1946 in Laredo, Texas to the late Raul and Rosa (Gomez) Arredondo.
On April 14, 1973 Rosita was married to Dan J. Harper. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2017. Surviving are their children, Stacey (Scott) Wolke and Scott Harper; three grandchildren: Isabel Wolke, Tyler Wolke, and Chayse Wolke, all of Findlay; and siblings Raquel McCurry of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Becky (Gene) Kear of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ruby Arredondo (Dan Baxter) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Raul (Marion) Arredondo, Jr., of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Renny Arredondo of Tacoma, Washington, and Patsy (Russell) James of Tacoma, Washington.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, Maria "Mary" N. Arredondo and Rosario "Sherri" Delmore, and a son-in-law Michael Lachman.
She received a Bachelor Degree in Education and two Masters Degrees from the University of Findlay, and retired as a professor from the University of Findlay.
After the passing of her husband, Dan, she threw herself into working at Blanchard Valley School as a substitute teacher. It gave her a new purpose in life.
She was an active parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, and served secretary of the International Women's Club.
Rosita loved 50 North and many times you would find her coloring with a group of friends there. She loved to cricut and craft. She also belonged to Findlay Rocks, so she has many hidden rocks out there.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio. KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in her memory to St. Michael's School to support the Spanish program.
